Welcome back for day 8 of my 12 days of giveaways!
Over the past couple of years I’ve grown to love the combination of mid mod furniture and Fusion’s Park Bench green.
This has been an absolutely magical combination for me.
I’ve practically lost count of how many pieces I’ve done in this color.
It’s rather comical almost.
At first glance you might not realize that all of these photos are of different pieces of furniture, but they are.
This gorgeous green just makes pieces fly off the shelf. I really should do even more of them, but I get bored doing the same look over and over. And I’m sure you guys would get bored seeing the same look over and over.
But periodically I see a piece for sale on Craigslist or Facebook Marketplace and I know it will look amazing in Park Bench so I snatch it up.
The frosting on the cake is adding gold hardware. In some cases I just purchase new hardware, some of my favorites include these knobs and pulls from Hobby Lobby …
But if at all possible I prefer to keep the original hardware and just spruce it up with some gold wax from Prima Marketing.
I love using this stuff on hardware. It dries hard and once dry can be buffed to add a little more sheen. I can’t really say that it holds up perfectly to years of hard use, but I do feel that it wears more gracefully than spray paint.
For day 8 I’m giving away a 16.9 oz jar of Fusion paint in Park Bench and a 1.69 oz container of Prima Marketing’s Decor Wax in Eternal, so the lucky winner can recreate this look. Then, just to round things out I’m also throwing in a 16.9 oz jar of my other favorite Fusion paint color called Laurentien plus a fabulous Staalmeester brush.
Thank you to Fusion Mineral Paint for sponsoring this giveaway by providing the paint and the Staalmeester brush, and to Prima Marketing for providing the Decor Wax.
The rules: to be eligible to win today’s prize leave a comment on this blog post. If you can’t think of anything to say, just tell me, when it comes to mid-mod are you a fan or does it give you bad flashbacks to your childhood? Your comment must be left on the blog, not on Facebook or Instagram. You are not required to follow my blog, although it would be awesome if you did!
I will randomly draw the name of a winner for today’s prize from all of the comments left on this post by Sunday, December 15, 2019 at the stroke of midnight (U.S. Central time).
The fine print: no purchase necessary, you must be 18 years of age or older to win, void where prohibited by law, the number of eligible entries received determines the odds of winning, approximate retail value of prize is $65, if the prize is not claimed by Tuesday, December 17, another name will be drawn at random to win, blah, blah, blah.
Good luck!
Love that color green. And it looks awesome on MCM pieces. My appreciation of MCM furniture has grown over the years. When I was younger I wanted all the details and heft of more traditional pieces. But now, the clean minimalist lines of MCM really does it for me.
Great giveaway. Thanks for the chance to win.

I’m not a huge fan of mid mod in my own house, but I love to see it elsewhere! That color is stunning!

I grew up in the 50s and 60s. My mom had a wonderful eye when it came to decorating, but I could never understand her blonde mid-century mod bedroom set. It seemed so out of place in our older home. But I have come to appreciate it over the years. I especially love seeing your transformation of these pieces. It would be wonderful to have the opportunity to use these products and create a piece for my own home!

I love MCM so much I opened a second booth in an antique mall that looks better with sleek furniture! I’ve had good success with Fusion’s Ash and gold or copper accessories. Ready to try Park Bench! Thanks for the inspiration!

I, too, have had great success with Park Bench. People just love it! Laurentian is also one of my favorites to use. I especially like it for a chalkboard surround. The contrast with a black chalkboard is fabulous! Thanks for being a constant source of inspiration for me!

Oh my goodness what a great prize! I’m a huge fan of your MCM pieces done in Park Bench and I love the turquoise Laurentian! Add in the brush and the gold wax I’m drooling. I have the wax in old silver and a darker gold – I love them. Thank you Linda for rewarding your readers in such a grand way.

I have never tried Fusion paint but have been meaning to and this green is great! I like a lot of MCM but don’t fall in the “never paint” set. I love some of the painted updates to mid-century pieces, including yours.

I wasn’t a fan of mid century at first, but it’s starting to grow on me. I absolutely love it in this color green. Always enjoy and look forward to your post.

The green fusion paint is fabulous on your mod furniture pieces. So classy looking but not too ‘in your face’ bright to overwhelm the furniture’s lines. I learn something new ever time I get ready info and pictures from you. I can’t thank you enough for your clear and concise instructions, know how and photos of the materials and furniture or other pieces. What’s sooo helpful is the before, during and after photos. And that includes you’re creative staging ideas also. Many, many thanks. Your prize this time as always, is another great one. My fingers are crossed for good luck in winning. Happy holidays to you and yours, Kim North

What an amazing giveaway! The first 3 pieces I ever painted were trashed MCM pieces. I loved watching them come back to life. The beauty you’ve created combining MCM and Park Bench ….mmmm.

It is a great color and perfect for the mid-century pieces. I am planning to re-do my bedroom in the new year. This might just be the inspiration I need.

I have to say, I actually became a fan of MCM when I saw your first piece in Park Bench. I couldn’t believe how gorgeous it was. I never thought I’d love MCM. I grew up with it and sometimes it’s really ugly. It’s amazing what a little paint can do!!

Yep, I honestly never thought I would become a fan either, but it has grown on me. And I love transforming the pieces that otherwise couldn’t be salvaged with paint.

I must say that I get the gold wax, but I am not the world’s biggest green person. However, on mid-century, I agree it is an improvement. And your work is always beautiful, not matter the color.

I have heard rumors that this particular gold wax is getting to be nearly as valuable as gold itself 😉

I’m not a big fan of mid-mod. There a a few furniture pieces that I like, usually it’s a dresser or credenza that will catch my eye. I am drawn to some of the old barware though; makes me think of old Hollywood and my parents having cocktails with my aunts and uncles. I like the glasses they would use with the gold patterns.

One of your MCM dressers is the exact dresser that my parents owned when I grew up in the 60’s and 70’s. It looks great in that green! I have a MCM sewing machine cabinet that needs a refresh and that color might be perfect. Thanks for the great ideas!

We had MCM furniture when I was growing up but was not drawn to it as a young adult. Then, in my late 50’s, I started really liking it and even ended up with my actual childhood dining table and china cabinet, but the chairs did not survive! Really love your Park Bench pieces!

I love mid mod! Then again, I could say that about many different styles! And color-I am one of those people who love bright colors or I’m all in for soft and quiet! Does this mean I don’t really know myself or have a split personality?😂

I’d go with SDPD, or split decorating personality disorder. I think I have it too 🙂

You have given me the confidence to repaint my furniture in my new craft room green! I love you blog and I love your honesty that you don’t want to duplicate. You could easily paint everything green and sell every piece. But the artistry comes from switching it up. Thank you for your blog as it gives us part time artists a person to look up to!

Might be too late, but I thought I would comment, I didn’t care for MCM when I was younger, but love it now. My Aunt and Uncle had an aluminum Xmas tree and light, which blew my little mind at the time. Now, I would enjoy having one of my own.
