the ‘how to’ page.

Off and on this past winter I’ve been working on a new page for my blog, the ‘how to’ page.

I thought it would be convenient to have one spot where readers can more easily find posts on specific products or techniques.

Over the years I’ve shared lots of tutorial posts, but there wasn’t a convenient way to go back and find them.

Now you can just go to my ‘how to’ page and simply click on a photo collage (like the one above) and a link will take you directly to a post with all of the details about that product or technique.

Take a look at the page and let me know what you think.  If you have any requests for a specific how-to, leave me a comment and I’ll try to add it in the future!

  1. Love love love it! Thank you! Now instead of bookmarking all the tutorials and trying to find them I can come to one place!

  3. Winner! You just made our lives magical by adding this feature. Thank you from the bottom of my crafting, painting, decorating heart. This must have taken a lot of thought, the graphics are consistent to make it easy to find your subject, the organization is unreal. If there is an award for a tutorial blog you just earned it.

  4. Awesome!!! I am sure that this part of your blog will be used by a lot of us on a regular basis. Especially people like me who are beginning to have those “Senior Momets.” I am always saying to myself,”Now what did Linda say about this?” 😂

  5. This is a real gift to those who do a search for “how to ……” not knowing whether the results will yield solid, tried and true advice. And as usual, your photos and eye for organization are exquisite and ad free! I predict more readers will find you through their searches. Win-Win! And us regular readers can clean out our Bookmarks now!

  9. At my age I need all the help I can get. Not that I mind sifting through past posts, but I get so easily distracted, I don’t get much else done. This will make it so much easier.

    1. I know exactly how you feel. I can’t tell you how many times I go to Facebook just to look at something quick and then 30 minutes and umpteen cute puppy videos later I can’t remember what it was I wanted to look for!

  10. Wonderful idea!!! Love that we can just go there for all your helpful advice and learn how to do things! With nice weather, I plan on painting some things, so this will be handy and save time! Thank you Linda!

    1. Ken would absolutely cringe at the idea of a video q&a. He’s already completely mortified every time I tell him that he has a fan club. In hindsight, I should have used an alias for him back at the beginning so he could be completely incognito, which is how he would like it. But speaking of Ken, now that the weather is nicer he has been cranking out the fixes on several projects I’ve had waiting for him out in the carriage house. I’ll be sure to share the details over the next several weeks on each of them!

  11. This is a great idea! Thanks so much. I’m always thinking; now is this what fusion paint is for? Will milk paint work for this? Now I can just look up all the info quickly.

  14. Quandie, love the how to page! Am wondering if you could do a how to, on the how to page, about blocking smells and stains with B.O.S.S? I read about it on a previous post of yours, but can’t remember who made it and am searching your blog to find it.
